House Rules
Asian Pride is dedicated to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community while maintaining a safer space for everyone. We kindly ask that you follow our House Rules during our events. Our volunteers reserve the right to refuse entry or escort out anyone exhibiting inappropriate behaviour, even if they have paid for the event.
CODE OF CONDUCT

Racism, sexism, ableism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, discrimination based on migration status, sexual assault, violence, intoxication and any other form of discrimination or harm will not be tolerated.

RESPECT FOR CULTURE, IDENTITY AND TRADITIONS
We are committed to an inclusive space in which all Asian identities, including Central, West, South, Southeast and East Asian communities, are equally valued. Always be respectful of the diversity within Asian cultures, languages and religions, including differing family and community values. Avoid stereotyping or condescending statements about Asian traditions and backgrounds.

CONSENT

Always ask for clear consent before getting physically close to someone. Treat everyone with kindness, decency, and respect. If someone’s behavior makes you uncomfortable, address it politely or inform and/or ask for support from Asian Pride volunteers who will be made recognizable at the event.
PHOTO AND VIDEO POLICY

Be considerate before taking photos or posting on social media. Respect individuals wearing a pink dot sticker, as they do not wish to be photographed or featured in social media posts.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY

Respect the right of members to their privacy and to be discreet about their identity, especially in relation to family and culture. Outing of any kind is not tolerated. Be sure to create a space where members feel safe to share their experiences without fear of condemnation or repercussions.

RESPECTFUL COMMUNICATION

Communicate with others with mutual respect, even when you disagree. When conflicts arise, try to resolve them through dialogue, respecting each other's perspectives.

RESPONSIBILITY AND EDUCATION
Educate ourselves and our community on both LGBTQ+ issues and Asian cultural and religious perspectives, raising awareness about internal and external discrimination and racism and how to actively combat them. Work collaboratively with other organizations to share knowledge and support a broader inclusive movement.

SPIRIT

Last but not least, enjoy all the events and embrace your fabulous self, your smiling side, and your rainbow power! We trust you will bring your best behavior and spirit to our community events, so have an amazing time!
